Events
The explorers post is involved in many events through out the year all over the Metro Detroit area. There are some of events that are annual events that the explorers partake in. Not only do the explorers help the City of Madison Heights in city events, but they also assist other cities and private organizations in there events. Some of the duties the explorers perform at events are traffic direction, crowd control, and security. When explorers work events, they always have the proper equipment needed for that event as well as a Post Advisor to supervise and assist them in anything they need. Below are some of the events we participate in.
Halloween Safety 2009
On Friday, October 23rd and Wednesday, October 28th. Two Explorers assisted the Madison Heights Police Department with two Halloween Safety Events. Explorers dressed up as Officer McGruff and passed out candy to the children. The event was a huge success and we plan on doing it again next year.
Clawson Fireworks
The explorers assisted the Clawson Police Department during the 4th of July parade and fireworks event held in
Clawson. Explorers conducted traffic control for the neighboring
department. The day started with blocking off roadways for the Clawson
Parade. As the day progressed explorers kept an eye on the parking
lot. In
the evening, explorers executed the traffic plan as set up by the
Clawson PD. A special thank you goes to Clawson Lt. McKernon for all
of his help.
